Coral Gables Theatre Companies are outdoing themselves this month

Officially opening on December 2nd and running until December 18th, Avenue Q is a well-known Musical-Comedy for good reason. Depicting the experiences of a young college graduate who finds himself in less than ideal circumstances, Stage Agent summarizes the story as follows:
“…There[Avenue Q], Princeton [college graduate] and his neighbors cope with the struggles of real life, learning that you cannot necessarily count on things turning out as you would like.”
Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. while the Sunday starting time is 7:00 p.m. With tickets starting at $10 and maxing out at $25, Avenue Q will make for a fantastic evening on all fronts.
The second play to keep an eye on is Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol. In the original Charles Dickens classic, the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is the main character. Readers will remember that Jacob Marley was the former business partner who visited Scrooge as a ghost.
Well, the Actors’ Playhouse has taken this iconic tale and told the story from Marley’s perspective. Played as a quest to save his friend and redeem himself, lovers of theatre and literature will be impressed by this interesting take on the original Christmas Carol. The play is scheduled to run from Wednesday to Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with afternoon performances taking place Sunday and Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
Between the times and the dates, these events are easy to pencil in.
