Smart strategies presented in Brandon
July 26, 2012 by James
The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce presents a monthly Working Smarter workshop seminar series to help local business specialists. The next workshop in the series will be entitled ‘Communicating beyond our differences’ and will take place on August 14 from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm. The workshop is open to both chamber members and non-members.
The series is presented by members of the Small Business Information Center and should offer an array of tips and strategies on communicating with both employees and fellow business peers. Although all businesses are different, it is important to understand that they can provide services to each other. It is hoped that this workshop will show those attending specific ways around the problem of two businesses failing to see any common ground between them, as well as how to recognize when they have found that ground.
Promising to be an excellent networking opportunity for Brandon businesspeople, those who plan to attend the workshop would be well-advised to arrange for business card printing in advance. If each person brings a minimum of 50 business cards to every networking event, it should ensure that nobody wants to run out of cards. There will also probably be time for those attending to deliver their elevator pitches while exchange cards. An elevator pitch is a 30 – 60 second blurb about a business and is designed to show others what that business has to offer them.
The Small Business Information Center provides such services as free counseling and workshops to businesses.
