Small businesses in the Brandon area look to grab awards
September 28, 2012 by Sarah
The awards are voted on by local businesses and citizens. There are five categories, which usually have 15 finalists in total and the winner being announced at the gala. The winners are chosen based on both their business success and community involvement. Awards such as these are invariably good for the business environment in a city, as they offer examples of those who are successful and who also take part in events that help the community. They often inspire their business peers to do a better job.
The five groups in which awards will be dealt out encompass a variety of business types, with smaller and larger firms being recognized, as well as minority groups and home-based businesses.
While there will be no hard cell at the event, there will definitely be time during the cocktail reception to discuss business, exchange a business card, or to speak with business peers. It may be wise, therefore, for them to carry out some business card printing beforehand, perhaps with the help of a local printing company.
The awards will be held on October 18 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm and tickets are $35 or $350 for a corporate table of eight. For more information, contact Laura Simpson at 813-689-1221 x8821.
