Chuck those pumpkins for a good cause

October 17, 2012 by

Immediately after Halloween, Punkin’ Chunkin’ 2012 will take place at Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse Grill in Tampa on. Admission is free and a portion of the proceeds go towards the Operation Patriot Foundation.

Punkin’ Chunkin’ is the shooting of pumpkins from a catapult – an activity that is catching on throughout the country. There will also be a Family Friendly Fun Fest taking place during the evening as well. It will feature a business showcase, children’s activities, musical entertainment, prizes, games, and bounce houses. There will definitely be something to appeal to every member of the family.

Businesses who wish to exhibit their services can rent a 10 x 10 space for $50 for chamber members or $100 for non-members. Companies from the greater Brandon area will no doubt avail themselves of the services of local printing companies to help them prepare for this exciting event. Investing in a banner could only help to draw attention to their booths and result in more people stopping by. If they are so inclined, they could also invest in flyer printing services to let their regular customers know they are taking part in the event.

Operation Patriot helps raise funds for families of firefighters, police officers, and military personnel who died on duty. It also helps those who have been seriously injured while performing their jobs. The organization holds several fundraising events during the year, with this particular one set for November 1 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. For more information contact the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce at 813-689-1221.
