Chances to play golf for charity in the Boca Raton area

May is the time when a lot of organizations hold their annual golf tournaments, and two such tournaments are planned for the Boca Raton area this month; one regular golf and one miniature golf tournament.

The 2nd annual Golf for Charity event will be raising funds for Gulfstream Goodwill Industries. Included in golf fees are breakfast, lunch, raffle tickets, a silent auction, and a gift bag, which will include such items as a golf shirt, a towel, golf balls and a shoe bag. It will be a great way to raise funds for a worthwhile organization while possibly making some business connections along the way.

Shortly after that, the Mini Golf Fundraiser will be raising money for JARC, an organization which runs group homes for developmentally disabled residents. Game fees include two drink tickets and 18 rounds of golf.

Both of these events raise funds for worthy organizations. No doubt they will both draw participants from all over the area, including nearby Boca Raton. Organizers will likely be working with local print companies to prepare advertising products such as flyers and posters to help spread the word.

Golf for Charity will take place at Breakers West in West Palm Beach on May 10 from 7:00 am. Golf fees are $175 or $25 just for lunch. For more information, call 561-848-7200.

The 2nd annual Mini Golf Fundraiser will take place at Putt’n Around in Delray Beach just three days later, on May 13, beginning at 5:30 PM. Fees are $20 per person and sponsorships are available from $100. Those who require more information can call Fallon Gechter at 561-558-2572.
