Bats at the ready for ping pong night

The Pong Fest and Unicorn Derby will take place at Bogart’s Bar and Grille on August 28 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $25 for spectators, $40 for ping pong players, $75 for a doubles team, and $100 to buy and decorate a unicorn. Those playing in the event will receive free a T-shirt, while both spectators and participators will also receive two drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres. The event hopes to raise $20,000 for Unicorn Village Academy.

There will be three levels of ping pong play at the Pong Fest: novice, moderately good, and expert. The Unicorn Derby allows participants to take part in two races and they can then decorate the unicorn any way they wish and promote it on social media. The most popular unicorn wins the derby.

Those teams who are really serious about winning the Unicorn Derby could work with Boca Raton printing companies to help promote their unicorn. They could design and print a flyer that they can distribute throughout the community telling people to vote for their unicorn. Flyer printing is very inexpensive and it would draw more attention to the event, encouraging locals to turn out to either participate or watch.

Unicorn Valley Academy is a high school for special needs students and its funds are raised by the Unicorn Children’s Foundation. Promising to be a fun evening for all involved, the fact that the fees go towards helping a worthy organization will make the event all the more enjoyable.
