Visit BONDS open house
November 14, 2011 by Sarah
Building our Neighborhoods for Development Success (BONDS) is holding an open house of their Neighborhood Resource Center on November 17 from 9 am -7 pm; there will be three prize drawings throughout the day, punch will be served as will sweet treats. The event will take place in the Department of Planning conference room
The open house is to acquaint the citizens with The Neigborhood Resource Center which provides resources and information to help them to deal with neighbourhood issues. The center also provides a copying service. If there is an event you want to publicize to the community and you are low on funds, this is a great resource. While flyer printing services are relatively inexpensive, the Resource Center can save you even more money because you can order less professionally printed flyers and make as many copies as you need for free (they will however only be in black and white.)
BONDS is a program of the City of Montgomery, in addition to the Resource Center they provide much-needed services to the city. They provide leadership training, the chance to network with other community organizers, and grants to neighbourhood associations. Their mission is:
“to improve the overall quality of life throughout the city and county of Montgomery.”
BONDS also hosts an annual Mayor’s Neighborhood Conferences and Gathering of Neighborhoods on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Gathering of Neighborhoods is a lunch forum which features guest speakers who discuss topics of interest to citizens such as changes to schools and new environmental laws.
