The Montgomery Corporate Challenge will take place from May 4-5. The aim of the challenge is the promotion of fun, fellowship and fitness. They hope to do this by providing those participating with athletic challenges and skills designed especially to provide a challenge for their bodies and their minds.

The challenge is open to all full-time employees of Montgomery companies aged 18 and over. There are various age categories and four divisions depending on the size of the company: Division I, 1-75 employees; Division II, 76-200 employees, Division III, 201-750 employees; and Division IV, 751 and more employees. Companies compete against similar sized ones. Each team must choose a captain and can have as many members as they want; there is an entry fee of $1000 for each team up to 15 members and $5 for each member over that number. Medals will be awarded at the end of the second day.

The events the teams will be competing in are:

• 100 meter freestyle swim
• 4×5 meter co-ed relay swim
• 10K bike race
• 10K walk/run individual
• 10K walk/run team
• Co-ed tug of war
• Boardwalk
• Fast track co-ed relay
• Co-ed sprint relay
• Executive 4×200 relay
• Co-ed obstacle course

Taking part in this would be a perfect team-building and morale-boosting event for a Montgomery company. A company can arrange with local printing companies to help design and print t-shirts for all the members of their team, handing out flyer printing will help to promote the event within the company. Those employees who can’t take part in the challenge can come to show morale support and root on their company team; they can also donate funds to pay for the team entry fee. This event can only bring a group of employees, whether they are clerks, managers or executives, closer together.
