Ascent Hospitality has recently issued a press release, on the website Hotel Business, announcing its acquisition of the Huntsville Marriott and its intention to allocate $10m to update the property.

Favorably located for tourism, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center can be accessed from the 292-room hotel, which at 5 Tranquility Base is less than 10 miles from the Huntsville International Airport. Also nearby is the Davidson Center for Space Exploration, the Huntsville Botanical Garden, Huntsville Museum of Art, EarlyWorks Family of Museums, and the Von Braun Center.

The planned renovations for the Huntsville Marriott will likely provide a financial boost to the city. In addition to renovations planned for the guestrooms, Ascent Hospitality also intends to renovate the hotel’s meeting rooms, of which there are 13. With a combined meeting space totally almost 16,000 sq. ft. and a capacity of 1,500 people, the hotel is able to accommodate a wide range of events.

Usually when hotels undergo renovations, brochure printers are consulted to determine how best to show off the newly remodeled spaces. The Marriott’s lobby, as well as its outdoor heated swimming pool and indoor swimming pool, might be featured. Other amenities that would likely be worthy of mention are its two restaurants, full service business center, fitness center, free Wi-Fi access, and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
