Poster printing is well underway for this summer’s Movie in the Park program, with folks all over town looking forward to some fun times in the park with their popcorn.

The popular event starts on the longest day of the year, Friday June 21. The fun for all the family Madagascar 3 is the first showing, with some other great titles also planned.

The news will come as a great relief to the city event organizers and parents. Due to the torrid weather we have been experiencing over recent weeks, the slated start date of June 7 was canceled.

That showing was meant to be The Lorax. There are as yet no reports that it will be rescheduled.

There are many fantastic flicks to look forward to though, with banner printing a great way the film venue in Veterans Park could be decked.

Also showing on the giant inflatable screen this season will be Hotel Transylvania, on Friday, July 12, Wreck-it Ralph on Friday, July 26 and Happy Feet Two which will be airing on Friday, August 9.

With all movies getting a PG this season, the screenings will be ideal for people of all ages. A statement posted to the official city website said:

“The movies are free, so it makes for a fun yet economical evening of entertainment for family and friends”

Located off Alabama 119, by the Alabaster-Montevallo line, Veterans Park is easily accessible for all.

All movies will start at dusk on each day. This usually falls around 8:00 p.m., so arrival from 7.30 p.m. is advisable to secure the very best spot.
