Friday wine tasting to support worthy cause

Locals can take a trip into the country for some fabulous wine at the EBF Wine Tasting event at 6:00 pm this Friday, April 26, at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, less than half an hour from East Haven.

More than 10 tables of wine vendors will be available between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm for sampling. Appetizers and hors d’oeuvre will also be served to participants provided courtesy of The Farms’ culinary staff.

In addition to wine samples, there will also be tasting of craft beers and spirits. Many wines will be available for purchase at reduced prices just for the event. The cash bar will be open until 10:00 pm.

Since alcohol is being served, this event is only open to those aged 21 years and older. The proceeds from the event will go to support Paul Newman’s The Hole in the Wall Gang camp, founded 25 years ago and catering for sick children. For events like this, wine brochures are easy to hand out to participants, letting them know which types of wine are for sale and offering accompanying food suggestions, so brochure printers may have been consulted by organizers.

Also on Friday, families can enjoy ‘Twin Desperados’ at the Merten’s Theater at the Arnold Bernhardt Center in Bridgeport.

This action comedy is suitable for the entire family. Set up as a radio show that turns into a full production, it is full of outlaws, thugs, and heroic cowboys. Performances are at 7:00 pm this Friday and 2:00 pm on Saturday.
