Washington DC hosts College Race

June 25, 2013 by

The 9th Annual College Park Cares Race is scheduled for September 28 beginning at 8:15 a.m. in Washington D.C. The event will take place near the Ellen E. Linson Pool located on Paint Branch Parkway. It will continue around Indian Creek Park and Lake Artemesia.

The race course is flat for the most part and built for speed. As this is a USATF certified, chip timed race, it gives serious runners an opportunity to set impressive personal records. The course is lined with trees throughout the path. There will be one water station approximately at the 1.5 mile marker and refreshments will be served at the finish line.

The event is providing booth space for vendors and sponsors which will be located inside the Ellen Linson Swimming Pool facility. Local printers will provide services needed to promote the booths such as banner printing or flyers. Banners are generally hung across the back of the booth noting the vendor or sponsor’s name and service or product. Flyer printing produces one page marketing pieces to distribute far and wide.

At the conclusion of the race, awards will be given out. There will also be many activities to carry on the fun of the day. For the children, a moon bounce and face painting will be available. Music and food can be enjoyed throughout the afternoon. A raffle for great prizes will also be part of the festivities.

There is more information as well as registration forms on the College Park Cares Race website.
