Washington D.C. casts an eye to Christmas already

The Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center will host the Christmas on the Potomac Festival in Washington D.C later this year. The event has been taking place since 2008 and usually attracts thousands of visitors from November to January.

Christmas on the Potomac Festival was recognized by the American Automobile Association as one of the ‘12 Most Festive Places to find Holiday Spirit’. Featuring a 60-foot glass tree covered in lights, including a nightly light show, indoor snowfall, and dancing fountains to holiday music, the event is one of the most popular of the year.

Throughout the season, family friendly activities hosted by the Gaylord will include photos with Santa, brunch, the Potomac Express mini train, and a character meet-and-greet provided by Dream Works. Another favorite is the gingerbread decorating, allowing the creativity in the children to flow.

One of the biggest highlights of the event is the annual ICE! Show. A winter wonderland is created indoors using the 15,000 square feet to house the ice. Tickets for ICE! Range from $15 to $30 and can be purchased online.

Print companies often work closely with event organizers in producing festival materials, with poster printing being an important element for promoting the events. Posters can be posted pre-event to stimulate interest and increase attendance, or used within the venue to direct guests to attractions throughout.

The event begins on November 15 and lasts through January. Visit the event website for more information and ticket sales.
