Walkers stride forward in Washington
April 29, 2013 by Mark
The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer will take place in D.C. this weekend, beginning at the Washington Monument Grounds located at 15th St. NW and Constitution Ave. NW.
Upon registration for the walk, many resources will be provided to ensure the = goals are met and the registrant is prepared. A ‘Walker Coach’ will be assigned and is available via email or phone. The coach can answer questions and provide suggestions in training for the marathon, as well as how to obtain funds. A personal fundraising page is given, which allows the walker to solicit donations and monitor the progress.
Pre-written email templates requesting donations will be provided, making it easy to ask for donations. It can be sent as is or the walker can insert a personalized message. A fundraising poster is included to post in work or other high traffic areas, exemplifying that poster printing is a frequent service provided by print companies for large fundraising events.
An Avon Walk email badge is another method to use when seeking a donation. Most importantly, a FAQ sheet will be included about breast cancer and prevention, allowing the walker to be able to speak knowledgeably on the cause.
To register or for more information on the Avon Walk in Washington D C, visit the event’s website or contact the offices at 1-888-540-9255. The walk will begin at 5:30 am this Saturday, May 4, with the ceremony beginning at 6:30 am. The event will close on May 5 at 2:30 pm.
