Upcoming festival in DC celebrates a distinct neighborhood

The Broccoli City Week celebration is getting underway in just a couple of days.

Several events are planned for during the week. The first to take place will be a 5K run at Anacostia Park. The festival will also include a two-day conference to be held at the Kellogg Center. Over 20 panelists will be on hand to discuss various topics such as sustainability, food access, and social activism.

There will also be the BC All Night art and music pop-up event that will be held at Ivy City on May 4 from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

The main part of the celebration will be the Broccoli City Festival on May 6. There will be two stages featuring entertainers such as Solange, Luna George, Nao and Kevin Abstract, a vendor’s market and cash bars. The Taste of BC will also be happening where local restaurants will be providing samples of their food and drinks.

It is likely that organizers will invest in items such as banners to decorate the venue and to advertise in the Washington DC area.

Broccoli City Week will be held from April 29 to May 6 in Gateway, DC. Fees for the conference, which will be held from May 4 to 5, are $199, while tickets for the Broccoli City Festival are $69 for general admission. A VIP week-long pass for all events is $395.
