Upcoming awards honor the best of business

The Small Business and Economic Development Summit and Awards Ceremony will be taking place next month in Washington, presented by the DC Chamber of Commerce.

This daylong event attracts power brokers, politicians, civic leaders, and businesspersons from all over the Washington, DC area. As one of the most important networking events of the year, it is likely that most attending will be bringing a large stack of premium business cards to exchange with their peers.

Approximately 100 exhibitors will be on hand to showcase their products, services, and programs. Exhibitors will no doubt include area small businesses, government departments, financial institutions, and suppliers.

One of the most important parts of the day will probably be the awards luncheon. Six separate business awards are set to be handed out, which include Young Entrepreneur of the Year (under 35), Women in Business Champion, and Small Business of the Year.

Sponsorships can also be purchased from $1,500 up to $25,000; sponsors will be recognized at the event and in all advertising.

The Small Business and Economic Development Summit and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on May 9 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Tickets are $50 for Chamber members, $75 for nonmembers, and $25 for students, veterans, and government employees. Call 202-347-7201 to learn more.
