Prince Charming set to stand and deliver to DC audience

Adam and the Ants were a huge band in the early 1980s, topping and doing well in the charts both sides of The Atlantic. With a successful solo career too, Adam is back with his new band, and will be performing in DC next week.

Adam Ant & the Good, the Mad & the Lovely Posse will take to the stage at the 930 club. Formed in 2010, the band presents a fresh new sound and is once again pleasing fans both sides of the pond.

A sizeable crowd is expected next week, with various campaigns getting the message of the gig out on the street. Poster printing has taken place, for example, whilst flyer printing in the club has been done for crowds coming to other gigs.

It is testament to the lasting power of Adam and his various bandmates that they continue to be so popular.

The real success came when Adam and his band released the hit tunes ‘Stand and Deliver’ and ‘Prince Charming’. A new so-called warrior sound, ‘Antmania’ swept from the UK to the U.S. It culminated in a Grammy for the Brit, as he took the Best New Artist award in 1982.

Further awards followed this. The 1990s and the early 2000s were relative quiet times, as Adam pursued an acting career. However, with a sold out tour in 2010, he is definitely back.

The gig at the 930 club on Tuesday August 14 comes on the eve of his new tour, which will take in both the U.S. and the UK. Fans will be looking forward to hearing the new and fresh sound from this lasting star.
