High hopes for this year’s Cinco de Mayo Festival

Washington, DC will host the annual National Cinco de Mayo Festival in the spring bringing a hugely anticipated festival to the region.

The festival includes live music along with dancers and dance music. The family-friendly event features kid’s arts and crafts, workshops, games and other activities. Special Latin food along with other ethnic items will be offered through various vendor booths.

The Cinco de Mayo Festival originated from Mexican origins but has grown into a full-blown Latin American event taking place on the National Mall. It provides exploration of the vast history and culture of the Latin Americans in the country. Ethnic diversity is enjoyed by all in attendance.

The Maru Montero Dance Company hosts the festival annually, and specializes in performances of Mexican folk, mambo, salsa, cha-cha, tango and other Latin dances. Former lead dancer in the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, Maru Monero, founded the non-profit dance company. His vision is to promote the beauty and joy of Latin American culture in the USA.

Festival organizers commonly utilize printing services from local print companies. Poster printing is a useful method of advertising pre-event. The posters are typically printed on thick stock in full color and finished with gloss coating. They can be hung throughout a region as well as used as souvenirs.

The National Cinco de Mayo Festival will take place on May 4 from noon until 6:00 PM at the National Mall between 8th and 12th Streets. Admission is free. For more information visit the event website.
