D.C. shows its taste in October

The annual event of Taste of DC will take place in October in Washington DC and features a culinary and cultural festival based in the country’s capital.

The festival covers five blocks in and around the Pennsylvania Avenue, packing in visitors and residents. More than 60 local restaurants will participate in the festival, serving up to four menu items. Each restaurant will feature a “taste of” item for the price of $3 or less.

Stella Artois Beer Garden and Music Stage will feature tasting of over 50 different types of beers. The samples will be available in either a five ounce cup or full pours totaling 14 ounces. The Beer Garden Music Stage will feature live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Eating competitions and professional chef demonstrations will take place each day, including the 3rd Annual Ben’s Chili Bowl’s World Chili Eating Championship scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

A Wine Walk offering the chance to taste of 50 wines will be including in the festival activities. Served in single ounce tastings or five ounce glasses, adults are bound to have a great time sampling the variety of wines.

The 11st Street music stage will host live music throughout the entire weekend, while the Family Zone will offer many fun activities and programs for young visitors all weekend.

Banner printing is usually an important task for print companies involved in assisting with the management of outdoor festivals like this. Banners are used to promote events to develop interest and ideally increase participation.

The event is scheduled for October 12 and 13, beginning at noon each day and continuing until 7:00 pm. More information is available via the event’s website.
