Warwick homeless organization to honor advocates

March 16, 2014 by

The Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless awards luncheon is taking place in Warwick this in just over a week. Advocates for the homeless from all over Rhode Island are expected to attend this annual event.

The organization is dedicated to putting homelessness in Rhode Island to an end through advocacy, education, collaboration with government and other agencies, services, and assistance to those facing problems.

The winners of the awards each receive a plaque. The awards to be handed out during the luncheon include the Sr. Carol McGovern, RSM Memorial Award, the Senator Jack Read Advocacy Award, and the Sr. Judy Soars, RSM and John Coen Memorial Award for Direct Services.

Sponsorships can be taken up from $100 which allows someone who may not be able to afford it to attend the luncheon up to $1,500 for a table. Advertising is also available in the program booklet.

To help promote events such as this, Warwick printing companies are often asked to provide posters or flyers to be distributed in the area. Alternatively, local brochure printers, will provide the program for the event.

The Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless awards luncheon is to take place at the Crowne Plaza on March 24 from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm. Tickets are $50 each. For more information about the event, call Sam at 401-721-5685 x21.
