Support our veterans with a motorcycle ride
July 12, 2012 by Mark
The Southern Ride of the Texas Roadhouse Homes for our Troops Motorcycle Ride will take place on August 5 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. The ride will start and finish at the Texas Roadhouse. Fees are $30 for lone riders or $50 if they bring a passenger, while those who just wish to take part in the cookout pay $20. The first 300 registered will receive a T-shirt, with proceeds from this event going to support Homes for our Troops, an organization that provides adapted homes for disabled veterans at no cost to them.
Those taking part in the ride will have a breakfast before setting out on the road. The ride will be followed by a cookout lunch. There will also be live entertainment, a 50/50 raffle, and prizes. No doubt the prizes will be donated by local businesses, so it would be a great help to the community if those local businesses let everyone know they are donating to this worthy event. They could work with Warwick printing companies or brochure printers to provide them with flyers or brochures to be distributed in the city. The flyers can give all the details of the event and encourage the public to come out, while any brochures could give details about Homes for our Troops and possibly provide money saving-coupons for those who receive them and who vow to support the charity.
Veterans, especially those who are disabled due to injuries received in a war, may sometimes feel overlooked and abandoned by society. Homes for our Troops changes that perception and has helped a lot of worthy people.
