Increase your networking range in Cranston
March 22, 2012 by Mark
The 2012 Statewide Business After Hours networking event will take place at Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet on March 27 from 4:30 – 7:30pm. Tickets are $15.
Over 1000 chamber of commerce members from at least 12 Rhode Island Chambers of Commerce, including Warwick, are expected to attend this annual networking opportunity. Several members will surely be in touch with their local brochure printers to create literature to add to the 100 table top displays available for viewing. In addition to brochures, they can display product samples, give away freebies, and stack business cards for other members to pick up.
Appetizers will be served and a lot of business cards exchanged during this three-hour event. The key to being successful at a networking event is to ensure you have an “elevator pitch” of one or two minutes which can tell everyone you meet all about your company and what you can do for them. Listening to the other person is also key, think more of what you can do for them than what they can do for you. And remember to follow up as soon as possible, preferable the next day.
Networking events usually take place amongst your local business peers and, eventually, you end up networking with the same people month after month. Events such as this one help to widen the scope of your network and increase the possibility that your business will become better known outside of your own community. The more widespread knowledge of your business is means that you can earn more money.
