Providence lets the whole family see in 2013

Another year is almost at an end again. The holiday season has begun and now the count down to 2013 is on people’s minds. People are looking for ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve and Providence has come up with a way to include the entire family in the celebration.

‘Bright Night’ is the city of Providence’s annual family-friendly arts oriented New Year’s Eve celebration. It features at least 17 stages, featuring musical performances, acrobats, magicians, storytellers, singers, dancers, actors, and visual artists. One large part of the celebration is Bright Night’s Got Talent, in which children aged 6 – 17 can compete with one another for prizes. Auditions for the show will be held from December 15 – 16 and there are four categories divided by ages. The four finalists of the event will win $100 and get to give a 10-minute performance during Bright Night. The event as a whole will no doubt have something that will appeal to each person in the family.

It is likely that Providence printing companies have helped design and print the poster for this year’s Bright Night, which features a spaceship lighting the downtown area. This poster will probably be seen on various building and areas throughout the city as the event gets nearer.

The 10th annual Bright Night will take place in Downtown Providence on December 31 from 12:00 pm – 12:00 am. Tickets are $15 for adults in advance, $10 for children, and $20 on the day of the event. For more information, call 401-864-5973.
