Cranston prepares for art explosion

The Garden City Center Art Festival will be taking place over two days in Cranston this June. A portion of all proceeds will go to ‘Art is Smart’.

The art festival will feature approximately 150 contemporary artists who will be selling handmade items such as paintings, jewelry, crafts, ceramics, glass, and photographs. In addition, there will be food for sale, children’s crafts, a community art project, musical entertainment and strolling entertainers. It will be a great opportunity for artisans to make themselves known in the community and for visitors to discover some great handmade fine arts, or perhaps to pick up a gift for a friend or family member.

Artists and crafters hoping to take part in the festival must apply to have their works assessed by a jury. Booths are $175 or $225 for a corner booth. Food vendors can rent a booth for $200 or $300 for a corner one, and there will even be 10 free booths available to young artists from grades one through twelve.

It’s very likely that the event poster, which has been widely distributed, was designed and printed with the help of local printing companies offering poster printing services. This should help art-minded people in surrounding areas such as Providence find out about this upcoming festival.

The Garden City Center Art Festival will take place at the Garden City Center in Cranston from June 8 – 9, and is free to attend. For more information, contact Jennifer Neuguth at 401-374-3899.
