Celebrate with the Chamber on Block Island

The Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Block Party will take place at Champlin’s Hotel, Marina and Resort on August 10 from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Tickets for the cookout only are $27 for adults and $15.50 for children. Prices for the ferry to get to Block Island are $21 for adults and $11 for children.

There will be plenty of opportunities to take part in exciting activities, such as kayak racing and bumper boats. There will be a large variety of foods at the cookout, including hot dogs, hamburgers, and ribs, with a cash bar also on offer. It has been suggested that this event would be perfect for a company summer outing, making it an excellent way to thank employees for all the work they have done during the year.

The event will also give those attending the chance to network with one another. While there will be no sales made, there will be time to exchange business cards and talk about business casually with peers from the Providence area. Those who plan to attend would be wise to arrange for a new business card printing order in advance, since no one will want to run out of cards. Since members from all Rhode Island chambers of commerce are invited there will probably be a large turnout.

Summer is the time when traditional networking opportunities can be few and far between, with most events taking place outside and being socially rather than business focused. While it is more relaxed, networking opportunities such as the Block Party can still result in business opportunities.
