Frightfully exciting month ahead in Pawtucket

The Halloween Festival in Slater Park will take place in Slater Memorial Park every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of October. This yearly celebration is sure to draw large crowds leading up to Halloween and volunteers are being sought to help out.

The festival will feature two fun-packed family-friendly events that are no doubt being widely advertised in the area. Pawtucket printing companies will probably be asked to help provide services such as flyer printing to help get the word out about these events.

Pumpkins in the Park will feature a pumpkin display, a pumpkin maze, and visitors will get to design their own Jack o’ Lantern. Last year, the event was held each day from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm and admission was $3. The Haunted Tunnel at Daggett Farm will be open each day from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, including Sunday, October 7 with admission priced at $5. The Daggett Farm also features farm animals and a greenhouse. All proceeds raised at the Daggett Farm go to charities that benefit the developmentally disabled.

Other Halloween happenings in Pawtucket will include the Halloween Hike, which will take place at the Audubon Society of Rhode Island on October 23 from 5:30 pm – 9:30 PM. The hike will feature plenty of woodland animals, well-lit trails, cooking s’mores over a campfire, and learning about bats. For more information, call 401-949-5454 x3041.

Whether people choose to attend one or all of these activities, it will surely make for a fun October in Pawtucket. For more information on how to help as a volunteer, call 401-728-0500.
