Rhode Island plays host to the music festival this summer

There are several music festivals taking place in the Newport area this summer, including the Newport Jazz Festival, the Newport Independent Music Festival (Nimfest), and the Summer Series at Sweet Berry Farm. All of these have something different to offer to visitors.

The Summer Series Food Events and Free Concerts event will be taking place weekly this August, featuring a full-course meal and free concerts. Some of those performing this year will be Back Eddy Bluegrass, the Jesse Liam Band, Bay Spring Folk, and the Lois Vaughan Quartet. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs to enjoy the concerts on the lawn.
Admission is free and dinner is $19.95, and the event will take place every Saturday during August. For more information, call 401-847-3912.

Until September 8, the Newport Independent Music Festival will occur every other Sunday afternoon. Performances taking place in August will feature the Big Cat Blues Band and Another Roadside Attraction. Admission is free and the goings-on will take place from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on event days.

On top of both of these events, the Newport Jazz Festival will take place from August 2 – 4 and will feature nationally and internationally known jazz and blues performers.

It is likely that all of these music events will draw people from all over the area to Newport and Middletown. Organizers will probably be working with local printing companies to help market them throughout the community.
