Good cause addressed by sweet-toothed locals

The 3rd annual Chocolate Brunch will take place at the Oceancliff Resort in Newport this weekend. Tickets are $85 and proceeds will help to support Visiting Nursing Services. Last year’s brunch attracted over 200 guests.

The popular event will feature a brunch and dessert buffet featuring mainly chocolate delicacies, champagne, live jazz entertainment, a silent auction with a fashion show, and a raffle. The raffle prizes will be $500 or a weekend getaway. It will be an excellent opportunity for local business leaders and those involved in the local philanthropic community to network with one another.

While it is not a business event and mainly a social one, there is likely to be a chance to exchange business cards and add to personal referral networks. Those attending from the local area, including nearby Middletown, may therefore want to arrange for a new business card printing order in advance, just so they can rest assured that their cards are up-to-date. Several business cards can easily be placed in a jacket pocket or in an evening purse for quick access during the afternoon.

Visiting Nurse Services (VSN) of Newport and Bristol Counties was formed in 1950. Its 200 employees provide service from East Providence to Newport. VSN provides many health-related services to the community, including home care, hospice care, and public health education. These services are provided whether or not the patient is able to pay or not.

The brunch will be held on November 4 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm. For more information please contact Susan Jacobsen at 401-682-2100 x1632.
