Parents’ night showcases Children’s Workshop

March 24, 2014 by

To celebrate the Week of the Young Child, which is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children in an effort to bring attention to the educational needs of youngsters, the Children’s Workshop at Smithfield is holding a Parent Night.

The event will help to showcase the programs provided by the workshop. There will be an art gallery of students’ work on display and each classroom will put on a show. Guests will also enjoy snacks and refreshments.

Parent Night is open to everyone in the communities covered by the North Central Chamber of Commerce and not just those with children at the workshop.

Students are bussed to the workshop from elementary schools in Johnston and Smithfield. In order to promote the Children’s Workshop, local stationery printers may be asked to help provide materials such as brochures, booklets, or flyers. These can then be widely distributed in the community and will likely encourage many who live in the area to attend.

The Children’s Workshop provides childcare and early education to residents, as well as offering classes to kindergarten level children.

Parent Night is taking place at the Children’s Workshop in Smithfield on April 9 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Admission is free. To learn more about the event, or about the workshop itself, contact Nicole Chiello at 401-233-2828.
