Great causes to shop in late August

Macy’s Shop for a Cause will take place in Hatboro on August 25. Participants buy a $5 shopping pass and receive 25% off of all purchases at Macy’s, both in person and online. The event will raise money for the Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and the Hatboro Holiday Parade.
Shop for a Cause is a nationwide event that has taken place for the past seven years. So far, it has raised over $42 million for various charities. Everyone who buys a shopping pass is eligible to win a $500 gift card.
This event benefits both the charities that will receive funding because of it and Macy’s itself. There are many charities who need help in the Hatboro and Warminster areas, so it would not be a surprise if other stores and businesses in the area were to consider backing a charity, which would both help in the community and increase their profile as a conscientious and ethical business.
They may also learn from the Macy’s example by working with local printing companies to design and print flyers. Flyers are a very inexpensive form of advertising, especially if bought in bulk. They can be distributed in a variety of ways that do not need to add any more cost, such as hand delivering, posting in public areas and community centers, or handing them out on the street corner.
Another idea to further convince people to take part in the event would be to attach a moneysaving coupon on that flyer. When the person brings in that coupon, they will find out how effective their flyer campaign was.
