Two outdoor celebrations in and around Philadelphia to liven up July
June 28, 2013 by Mark
Summer is here and people are ready to get outside and to celebrate. Two upcoming events in the Philadelphia area this summer will fit the bill for many.
At the start of the month, the Taste of Philadelphia will take place for three days and will feature samples of food from area restaurants and food trucks. There will also be live entertainment on the Riverstage; including a concert by Marsha Ambrosius. A fireworks display will take place on the second day of the celebration.
Later in July, the XPoNential Music Festival is taking place later in the month in several nearby locations. It will feature concerts by some of the biggest music stars in the United States including Bob Dylan, Dr. John, and Counting Crows. In addition, there will be many family-friendly activities to take part in during the festival, as well as vendors and food concessions. Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and coolers.
Both of these events are likely to attract people from all over the area including nearby Royersford. Print companies are probably helping organizers prepare marketing items, such as flyers, to spread the word.
The Taste of Philadelphia will take place at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing from July 5-7. Admission is free and the fireworks display falls on July 6.
The XPoNential Music Festival will take place at Riverside, Wiggins Waterfront Park and the Camden Riverfront from July 26 to July 28. Three day ‘go everywhere’ passes are available for $105 until July 15 and $125 after, while a one-day kid’s pass is $5.
