Raise Money for Cancer Research in Plum

April 28, 2012 by

The 3rd annual Bowl for the Cure will take place at Nesbit’s Lanes on May 19 beginning at 1 pm. The cost to take part is $15 per person or $75 for a team of up to five players. It is suggested that those taking part wear something pink. Proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Pittsburgh.

Each team will play three games of 9-pin bowling. In addition, there will also be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. Local companies are invited to donate items for the silent auction. They are also welcome to take part in the bowling event by forming teams. This will be a great bonding and team-building exercise for a business. Not only will they be helping find a cure for breast cancer and showing they care about those in the community, but they will also be making themselves a stronger organization by working together towards a goal. Plum printing companies can help them to raise more money by helping to design and print flyers to distribute to their customers telling them about the event and possibly including a form in which people can donate money to help the team.

Since 2000, “Bowl for the Cure® has attracted over $ 9 million dollars for Komen for the Cure whilst educating bowlers’ about breast cancer screening, support and treatment. While breast cancer is one of most survivable cancers there is still a lot of research needed before a cure is found. Events such as Bowl for the Cure help.
