Local organization ready to help out seniors

The Riverview Community Action Corporation (RCAC) provides services and community programs for seniors in and around Oakmont and two upcoming events will bring the organization to the forefront – one of which will help to raise much needed funds for its programs and services.

Health and Wellness Day is being held in the middle of the month at the RCAC headquarters. The event is presented by HealthyWorks of PA. It will offer free medical tests, such as blood pressure screening and hearing tests. Organizations will also be on hand to provide information on various medical conditions and about the services they provide.

Later in August, the Thomas W. Angerman Memorial Golf Outing will raise funds for RCAC programs and services. It is held in honor of a long-time member of the corporation.

It’s likely that both of these events will attract people from several nearby communities, such as Plum, that might avail themselves of the services of the RCAC. Local printing companies have likely been asked to help organizers prepare, which might include printing flyers for advertising, banners to recognize sponsors of the events, or informative literature to be given out to visitors.

Health and Wellness Day will take place at the Riverview Community Action Corporation on August 13, beginning at 9:30 am, while the golf outing will get underway at 9:00 am at the Hillcrest Country Club on August 30.
