Get golfing with the chamber

The Plum Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf outing is scheduled to take place at the Meadowink Golf Course on August 18, beginning at 9:00 AM. Fees for this year’s event have not yet been announced but last year’s outing cost $75 for an individual or $300 for a foursome.
The fees will include 18 rounds of golf, lunch, and skill competitions on selected holes. This will be an excellent event for Plum business pros to enjoy a social event while taking time to network. Those who are attending can arrange for business card printing in advance so they have a few cards to stash away in their golf bags. A lot of business is done while playing golf, so it is fitting that most chambers of commerce in the United States have annual tournaments for their members. However, no selling is likely to be done, as it is just a casual event in which business will inevitably be discussed during the game and over lunch.
An annual golf event is a good way to meet some of those chamber members who may attend different networking events. Some people do tend to make more of an effort to attend networking events that are social rather than straight business or educational. Summer is also the time when there are fewer networking opportunities and many jump at the chance to attend any event that comes up. After all, business does not take a holiday and there is still work to do and connections to be made during the summer months.
