Upcoming gala event to help raise money for Global Solutions Pittsburgh
May 27, 2013 by James
Global Solutions Pittsburgh is dedicated to building a more fair and peaceful world. The Spring Fundraiser will help provide money for programs to help expose children to other cultures, teach students how to compete in the global marketplace, and promote human rights and social justice worldwide.
The fundraiser will consist of a cocktail reception with drinks, appetizers and desserts, a cash bar, jazz music from Velvet Heat, and a silent auction. Guests will also receive free admittance to the Fiber Art International 2013 exhibit at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. This exhibit is showing until August 18 and features the works of national and international artists working in the fiber medium. The juried exhibit is held once every three years.
Local businesses will be donating to the silent auction, which will feature such prizes as Pittsburgh Steeler tickets and a day’s treatment at one of the city’s best spas. It’s possible many of those donating to the event will wish to let their Pittsburgh customers know about the fact they supplied items. This might include investing in services such as flyer printing – the result of which could be more people wishing to attend the event in order to bid on those items.
The 64th annual Spring Fundraiser will take place at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts on June 6 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. For more information, contact Tim Lessick at 412-471-7852.
