Pittsburgh to celebrate the area’s food

The 11th annual Farm to Table Pittsburgh Local Food Conference is taking place next month for two days.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Growing Roots for Healthy Communities’.

Over 150 local food producers, farmers, wineries, and distilleries are expected to be on hand to offer information about their products, and to provide samples to the public. There will also be guest speakers, cooking demonstrations, gardening tips, and presentations from experts on various topics.

There will be a premier food tasting event on the Friday night from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, for which tickets are $30 each. The Farm to Flask mixology event will be held on Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Tickets cost $20.

This is also an opportunity for those who work in the food industry to create partnerships or grow their referral networks. Meanwhile, the public can discover exactly how much of their grocery list can be filled by local food producers.

Many of the vendors and exhibitors may invest in items such as signs or banners to draw attention to their booths.

The Farm to Table Pittsburgh local food conference will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from March 24 to 25. Tickets are $20 or $30 for two days, or a pass of $60 is available that covers both special events. Call 412-913-2877 for more information.
