Pittsburgh set to make the difference
October 31, 2012 by Sarah
The Champion of the Year Awards Ceremony will take place at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Pierce Arts Education Center in about a week. Tickets are $35 for the general public, $25 for Best Buddies members and chapter students, and $450 for tables of 10.
The ceremony, which is presented by Best Buddies Pennsylvania, will be honoring individuals who have dedicated themselves to providing equal work opportunities for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as to several who have benefited most from those opportunities.
A number of people will be receiving awards, such as Champions of the Year, Advocates of the Year, Champions of the Year honorees, and Buddy Hero honorees. In addition to the awards, drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served and there will be a silent auction to raise funds for Best Buddies Pennsylvania and its programs.
Also on the agenda will be ‘Buddy Got Talent’ performances throughout the evening performed by those who benefit from the services of Best Buddies. Sponsorships are also available for $500 – $1,000 and ad space can be purchased in the event program book that all attendees will receive for $125 – $1,000.
This event will also be a good networking opportunity for Pittsburgh businesses and individuals who are dedicated to helping improve the lives of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No doubt many will be placing a new business card printing order in advance so they will be able to contact those they meet during the evening.
Those keen to attend should keep November 7, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, free in their diaries. For more information, call 610-992-9400.
