Pittsburgh residents to show off world affairs knowledge

The 10th annual WorldQuest International Trivia Competition is taking place in Pittsburgh this October. Hosted by the Fundraiser World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, it is aimed at educating the public about international affairs.

The competition will be hosted by Sally Wiggin of WTAE and Paul Guggenheimer from 90.5 WESA. Competitors will be divided into teams of four for the trivia contest. The event will also include dinner, a cash bar, and a raffle. Prizes will be awarded to contestants, and there will be plenty of chances for participants and spectators to network with one another and to learn more about current world affairs from experts.

This will be a fundraising event for the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, which holds over 200 events annually aimed at high school students and business professionals.

Sponsorships are also available from $500 – $2,500, and all sponsors will be recognized in event material and on signage at the event. It seems likely that organizers will be getting all printed materials from Pittsburgh printing companies, as well as any materials used for marketing the event.

The WorldQuest International Trivia Competition will take place at the Cabaret at Theater Square on October 21 beginning at 5:45 pm. Entrance fees are $120 for a team of four or $30 for an individual, with all individuals to be placed in teams of four. Ticket prices for spectators are $30. Those interested in attending should contact Dan Law for more information at 412-281-1259.
