Party at the Andy Warhol Museum
April 1, 2012 by Sarah
The PerLora pre-party for Chairs for Charity will take place at the Andy Warhol Museum on April 19 from 6-8 pm. Tickets are $20 and all ages are welcomed.
Chairs for Charity consists of hand-painted chairs by seven local Pittsburgh artists; the chairs will be displayed at various places in the city before the event and will be auctioned off on May 7. Proceeds from the auction of the chairs will go to support the children’s outreach and education programs of the Andy Warhol Museum.
The pre-party will feature refreshments and appetizers, a chance to view the seven chairs and the opportunity to meet with the artists and with other art aficionados. No doubt, Pittsburgh printing companies will be working with the organizers to create the posters and flyers needed to advertise this event and the auction of the chairs.
On May 7 a gourmet dinner will be served at PerLora Southside from 6-9 pm. Tickets are $150. The evening will consist of a cocktail reception with appetizers and a three-course dinner. Each table will be served by a different Pittsburgh restaurant or caterer. The seven Chairs for Charity will also be auctioned off and there will also be a chance to purchase other works by the artists.
Both events will be an excellent chance to meet and socialize with local art lovers and to raise money for a good cause. So many school boards are cutting down on arts education and the Andy Warhol Museum’s programs help to take up the slack.
