Celebrate comic and cartoon art at Ka-blam!

June 4, 2012 by

Ka-blam! Gotham Nights will take place at the ToonSeum and the Pierce Gallery on July 21 from 6:30 pm – 11:00 pm. Tickets are $50 for general admission and $125 for VIP, which includes a membership to the ToonSeum. Proceeds from the event go to support the ToonSeum and its programs.

The night begins with a VIP reception, hosted by Jim Krenn, which will take place from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. It then moves on to the Pierce Gallery at 8:00 pm where guests can take part in a silent auction featuring works from local and national artists, rare comics, travel vouchers, and gift certificates. There will also be musical entertainment, food, refreshments, and a cash bar.

Pittsburgh printing companies are very likely to be helping the organizers of the event prepare for the evening by providing poster printing and flyer printing services. Cartoons and comic books are more popular than ever and the ToonSeum is helping to bring the art to the community at large. Flyers advertising the event can be left at comic book stores, as can posters, letting those who have an interest know about the event and targeting those who will be more than willing to help raise funds for this unique museum.

The ToonSeum is one of only three museums in the United States which is dedicated to comics and cartoon art. Recent exhibits have included Will Eisner’s New York and a Betty Boop Film Festival. It provides workshops, community outreach, and educational programs.
