Visit treasures from the Uffizi Gallery

The James A. Michener Art Museum will be presenting the exhibit “Offering of the Angels: Treasures from the Uffizi Gallery until August 10th.

“Offering of the Angels” presents major Renaissance artists from the 15th to 17th century such as Titian, Botticelli, Liberi and Tintoretto. 45 master works featuring scenes from the Old and New Testaments will be highlighted, The works of art being shown in this exhibit have never been displayed in public before and were all placed in storage at the Uffizi due to lack of space.

In addition to and related to the exhibit, there will be several other events taking place during the duration of the exhibit, such as gallery talks and a lecture series which began on May 3rd and continues until May 24th. The lecture series features four art history lectures. Ticket prices for the entire series are $75 for adults, $55 for members of the Museum and $35 for students; individual lectures cost $25 each for adults, $15 for members and $10 for students. The prices include admission to the museum and the exhibit.

Employees of graphics and printing companies from the Philadelphia area will probably want to visit to this exhibit; it will inspire them to create graphics that will move the general public. The Renaissance masters had a great influence on how we see art and even the most modern forms of art still bear that influence.

Admission to the museum is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $11 for college students and $7.50 for younger children.
