Philadelphia set to celebrate with fireworks
June 27, 2013 by James
There will be two fireworks displays of note taking place in Philadelphia this July.
July 4th will start off with a Party on the Parkway, which takes place on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway from 20th Street to the Eakins Oval at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It will be a day-long party with plenty of food, games and entertainment provided on several stages. Later on in the evening, the July Jam, a free concert, will feature such internationally known performers as The Roots, John Mayer, Jill Scott, and Demi Lovato. This will be followed by the Grand Finale Fireworks display.
The Taste of Philadelphia Concert and Adventure Aquarium Waterfront Fireworks Spectacular will take place a couple of days later. It will feature the music of Marsha Ambrosious. The Taste of Philadelphia takes place in the city from July 5 – 7 and is a festival of food vendors and trucks. Many of those attending will likely stick around for the fireworks.
Philadelphia print companies have probably been asked to provide the organizers with products such as signs and banners to help prepare for these events.
The Party on the Parkway will take place on July 4 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The July Jam and Grand Finale Fireworks conclude the evening from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm, with the fireworks display expected to begin at 10:30 pm. Call 215-683-2200 for more information.
The Taste of Philadelphia Concert and fireworks spectacular will take place at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on July 6 from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
