Philadelphia about to mean business

The 30th annual Excellence Awards will take place at the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing next month, with the awards being presented by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

The evening will provide several opportunities for networking among chamber and non-chamber members. There will also be live entertainment, dancing, a sit-down dinner, and the awards presentation.

There are 10 Excellence Awards to be handed out to business leaders in 11 counties. They are a celebration of the best of small businesses in the Greater Philadelphia area. The criteria for nomination included having from 1 – 100 employees, being in business for more than four years, and having shown great community involvement.

The examples of the winners will no doubt spur on some of those in attendance to find out exactly what made these businesses and individuals stand out from other small businesses. Networking is important to business success, so having some of these award winners in their referral networks will help companies get to that next level.

Bearing this in mind, Greater Philadelphia business professionals and entrepreneurs who plan to attend will no doubt be arranging for extra business card printing in advance. This will ensure that they have plenty of cards to hand out to everyone and that all their contact information is up-to-date.

The awards night takes place on November 15 from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Tickets are $135 or $125 for Young Professionals Network (YPN) members. For more information, call 215-545-1234.
