The 4th annual ‘Takin’ it to the Street’ Summerfest and Corvette Show is taking place on the first Saturday in June.

The show is a presentation of the Liberty Region Corvette Club, and those who wish to take park can register their cars in advance or on the day of the show. Cars then compete for a 60 awards in various categories, including Best of Show, Best Paint and several People’s Choice Awards.

In addition to the display of classic corvette cars, there will also be children’s activities, such as face painting, food and drink concessions, craft vendors and local business displays. Live music will be provided by three local bands as well.

The event will take place in Newtown on June 1 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Registration of cars is $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the show. A portion of proceeds from the show will go to several local charities. For more information, call 267-614-8205.

One popular event taking place in Newtown before this is the 53rd annual Strawberry Festival. Visitors will be able to purchase fresh strawberry desserts, homemade items, and possibly used books. There will also be live music provided.

Vendors taking part in the show, which will take place over the Memorial Day weekend, will no doubt come from all over the area, including Philadelphia. Many of them will also likely be providing money saving coupons produced with the help of local print companies.

The Strawberry Festival takes place at the Newtown Presbyterian Church. For more information, call 215-968-3861.
