Help support a local volunteer fire department

“A Night at the Races,” a fundraiser for the Crafton Volunteer Fire Department will take place on April 21 beginning at 6pm. Ticket prices are $15 or $25 per couple, and the event is for those over the age of 21 only.

The ticket price includes dinner, beer, and soft drinks; those who wish to drink something different can bring their own. There will also be horse races on the big screen TV, blackjack, a money wheel, an over-under table, strip tickets, 50/50 raffles, and door prizes. The first 200 people through the door will receive a 2012 Enjoy Coupon Book. Among the prizes to be raffled off will be an autographed hockey stick from Kris Letang.

This event will draw people from all over the area, including nearby North Versailles, to support this worthy cause. Local printing companies will no doubt be providing the raffle and strip tickets to the organizers, whilst ensuring the attention of the community is caught with poster printing, banner printing and flyer printing.

As many cities in the United States find it necessary to cut funds for services such as the fire department, volunteer fire departments become more and more important. These men and women put their lives on the line to help others for no pay and very little recognition. It is very hard to comprehend how dangerous their job is without having experienced it. It becomes more important for the general public to help support local volunteer fire departments when the government cannot. Events such as this are a fun way to do that.
