Hay Days return to the Pittsburgh area

September 24, 2013 by

A couple of festivals are taking place in the Pittsburgh area this September and October. The Hay Days festivals are traditional fall events with many seasonal activities, and two are scheduled to be held in the area this year.

The first of the festivals, taking place in September at Hartwood Acres, is combining Hay Days with the Allegheny Green Festival. The Hay Days events will include hay rides, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, face painting, and a Halloween puppet show. The Green Festival, meanwhile, is set to feature earth friendly foods and merchandise, arts and crafts, green living demonstrations, music, children’s activities, and information booths from more than 80 environmentally friendly organizations.

The next Hay Days festival, being held in South Park, features many of the same activities as the Hartwood Acres festival, such as pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, the Halloween puppet, show and various children’s amusements.

It is likely that many of those participating in the festivals will come from nearby communities such as North Versailles to attend. Organizers have probably invested in printing services such as poster and flyer printing to help advertise these festivals to people around the area.

The Hay Days Festival and Allegheny Green Festival will be held this Saturday, September 28, at Hartwood Acres Amphitheater from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, and is free to attend. The South Park Amphitheater event will follow it on October 19 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
