Celebrate the holidays in Media
December 6, 2011 by Mark
The holidays are upon us once again and everyone is looking for some fun things to do. If you need something to do in December look no further than downtown Media for lots of holiday fun and frivolity. Free parking will be available at the Olive St. Garage during all the events.
All of the holiday events in Media are listed on a postcard; printing this and carrying it around will enable you to show and tell your friends about them. This is handy because there are a lot of events to remember.
The holidays kicked off in Media with the Festival of Lights and Santa’s arrival in town on November 25. Carriage rides began on December 7 at the Courthouse and will take place again on December 14 and December 16; strolling carollers will also serenade visitors during those two nights. Santa’s Village opens on December 10 at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union; Santa will be there until December 23. There will be lots of shopping opportunities at Santa’s Village; you might find the perfect last minute Christmas gift for a friend or family member there. Children are invited to come and meet Santa on December 16; I’m sure he will want to know what toys they want him to bring.
To finish off the holiday season, there will be a New Year’s Eve ball drop at State and Jackson. Live music will be provided from 11 pm by Philly Gumbo and the ball will drop at midnight.
