School soccer team kickstarts its September event

The second annual Funny Fundraiser for the Peters Township High School Soccer Boosters will take place at the Library Fire Hall in South Park on September 7, beginning at 6:00 pm.

The emcee for the event will be David Kaye and, in addition to comedy entertainment from Mike Egan and Lionel Hamilton, there will also be a buffet dinner, draft beer, soft drinks, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction. Those attending are also welcome to bring their own refreshments. No doubt local companies from Peters Township, including nearby McMurray, will be donating items for the silent auction. Those companies may opt to work with local printing companies to help notify the public about the upcoming event. They could have the current event flyer redesigned and reprinted to include the fact that their company has donated items or is sponsoring the event. Then the flyer could be distributed throughout the community and will hopefully get more people interested in attending.

Tickets are $25 and premium seating for groups of twelve is $500. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to support both the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams. Corporate sponsorships are available for $250 and sponsors will receive recognition through signs at the event or in the program booklets that everyone will receive.

This should be a fun event for those who are interested in maintaining a soccer program at the high school. It will be a great way to show support for the sport and enjoy a fun night out with friends and family.
