Festival offers a variety of fun fall activities

The 5th annual Bounty at Boyce Mayview Park Fall Festival in a couple of weeks. Partly presented by the city and the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair, there will be lots of fun activities to take part in during the day that should appeal to every member of the family.

Among the attractions, will be an indoor pumpkin plunge, an apple slingshot, food trucks from Pittsburgh, hay wagon rides, pumpkin bowling, and nature hikes. One particularly popular event is the Mascot Run, which features characters from area sports teams. Other activities will include face painting, cider tasting, musical entertainment, and an obstacle course.

Arts and crafts vendors are also set to be on hand, many of whom will provide demonstrations on their artistic techniques. At last year’s fair, visitors enjoyed demonstrations of such activities as glass blowing and wood carving. There is also going to be a baking contest, for which winners will be declared within three age groups.

The day is expected to attract visitors from all over the area, including nearby McMurray, and locals look to celebrate the fall season. Organizers are likely working with local printing companies at the moment to design and print marketing items like flyers to spread the word.

The yearly event is being held on November 9 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is free, although some activities have a small fee. To find out more about the day, call Amy Kernan at 412-221-1099 x603.
