Dog Days of Summer Festival to help Washington County animals

June 26, 2013 by

The 3rd annual Dog Days of Summer Festival is taking place from throughout the month of July in Washington County. It is a fundraiser for the Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS).

There will be a variety of events taking place during the month, which will include raffles, family-friendly invents, dog games, and vendors. In addition, one other event in which the WAHS will be taking part during the month is The Washington Whiskey Rebellion celebration, during which WAHS animals will be available for adoption. A rabies and vaccine clinic will be taking place during the month too.

A Rummage Sale and Vendor Show will take place over two days during the festival. Those interested in taking part can rent a table for $25, or $15 just for the space. A portion of the proceeds will go to WAHS.

Animal lovers from all over Washington County, including McMurray, will no doubt want to attend at least one of these events. Local print companies are most likely providing the organizers with products such as flyers to advertise upcoming events.

The Dog Days of Summer Festival will take place from July 1-31, and the WAHS will be at the Washington Whiskey Rebellion celebration on July 13 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The rabies and vaccine clinic will take place at the WAHS in Eighty Four on July 14 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Finally, the rummage sale will also take place at the WAHS headquarters over the weekend of July 20-21. For more information about any of these events, call 724-222-7387.
